Early childhood education & care services have an important role in supporting mothers to continue to breastfeed, as returning to work is a common reason given for stopping breastfeeding. Blinkies Early Education Centres have developed a breastfeeding support plan for families in collaboration with ‘Encouraging and supporting breastfeeding in childcare resource kit’ along with service policy. An individual breastfeeding support plan will be developed for all breastfed children attending care, these are developed in collaboration with the individual family.
