Experts in Education

From your child’s very first day of attendance at our centre our highly trained and experienced educators work collaboratively with families to implement the Early Years Learning Framework  (EYLF). The framework is a key component of the National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care. It envisions that all children experience learning that engages them and builds success for life. Our educators use the EYLF as a framework to develop individualised strategies to implement objectives.

Play based learning is central to the EYLF. Play based learning is a complex form of natural enquiry that requires experienced and attuned educators whom know the strengths, interests and developmental needs of individual children. Through play based learning our experienced and highly skilled educators introduce and reinforce concepts to extend children’s learning in a manner that engages their interests and skills.

Established Centres

Blinkies Early Education is a well established family owned business that has been operating in Newcastle for over 40 years. Our experienced staff and secure grounds offer a sense of familiarity and safety to help your child feel comfortable and settled within our environment. We have a strong understanding of children’s developmental needs and offer an individualised and stimulating program for each child based on their abilities, culture, interests and learning styles.

Experienced Staff

Blinkies has exceptionally experienced and educated staff which allows us to offer a high quality program for all children. We are able to foster and develop positive relationships with each child due to a very low turnover of staff, as more than 50% of our staff have been with us for over ten years.  Our staff are committed to ongoing learning, professional development and reflective practice. We pride ourselves on our commitment to our staff and supporting their wellbeing.

Educational Program

In collaboration with families our highly qualified teachers tailor a program that reflects the interests, culture, strengths and ideas of all children. We support the development of each child’s agency with children having the opportunity to make decisions and choices that influence them. Our play based learning approach encourages children to immerse themselves in open ended learning opportunities that facilitate curiosity, initiative and wander in learning.

Family Partnerships

Blinkies aims to build strong collaborative partnerships with families to plan and implement care for their children.  Our educators commit to building meaningful relationships with families to support children’s engagement and build their sense of belonging and inclusion. Blinkies demonstrates respect for individual family practices and remains sensitive to social attitudes with respect to cultural diversity, gender and inclusion of children and families with additional needs.

Online Platform

Blinkies has developed a personalised online platform to document the learning and development of all children at our centres. Each family has access to their child’s portfolio at a time and location convenient to them. Families have the ability to engage with educators and provide feedback and planning suggestions. Families can also add additional family members – a great way for family to stay connected and share in the learning and development of your children.

Community Connections

Blinkies has a strong commitment to engaging in our local community and supports many local charities and organisations. The importance of community connections is embedded in our everyday practice and shared with children, families and our community. Blinkies is also committed to the environment – our educators help children connect with nature and develop respect for the natural environment, flora and fauna and an appreciation of beauty in all manifestations.
